A short animating using my Nano Flower design and a hand built landscape.

This short CGI clip was made useing Procedural modeling, textures and animation.

In the world of 3d (and probably elsewhere) Procedural means using mathematic equations and dynamic interactions to create unique values. In this instance it means that I set up the scene using a selection defining all the variables not by choosing there values, but by linking them to a series of borrowed and self made equations. The results are random and organic shapes, movement and textures, that are totally unique to this scene.

Im finding working with Procedurals to be fascinating (and very frustrating), you set the scene up, but never know quite what your going to get, sometimes its shit… (hence frustrating) sometimes it blows my mind (usually my computer too!), I think this one is someplace in between!

I’ve spent a bit of time re-doing the DRM logo, I made sure it fitted within various geometric design parameters… Then I pulled it all apart polygon by polygon!
